DiveBlues Jetforce Handheld Turbo Fan

As a woman of a certain age who regularly experiences those delightful menopausal internal volcanic eruptions (hot-flushes), I already have several large fans strategically placed around the house. But whether I’m heading out or just sitting on the sofa slightly out of reach of a decent breeze, I’ve still been struggling. And with this ridiculously hot weather on top of it all, I’ve been on the verge of exploding!

Then I came across this fan, and O.M.G. it has changed my life; I cannot speak more highly of it.

The ‘Turbo’ in the name is not just there to sound fancy. For the techie types - it has a high-performance 6-blade design with powerful three-phase brushless motor and speeds up to 10m/s and 13,500rpm (I don’t exactly know what all that means, but I don’t think I need to either. It just means brilliant.).

There are 5 speed settings, from gentle breeze to a full on Bonnie Tyler 80s wind machine. There is just one button to turn it on and off, and allows you to scroll up the settings with each press. That said, if you just like one particular setting, and can’t be faffed to keep pressing the button, you can press it to the correct setting, and then when you go to turn it off, keep your finger on the button until it turns off, then next time you press it on, it will remember which setting you had been on.

It has been designed so well, and it feels solidly built. It can be handheld, then, swivel the head and have it as a desk fan, or attach the neck strap and have it blow at your neck and face, whilst keeping your hands free. With a length of just 17cm, a nicely rounded handle depth of 2.2cm, a fan depth of 4.5cm and a weight of just 190g, it fits nicely into my handbag for much needed wafting on-the-go.

It can provide up to 12 hours of cooling on one charge, and you won’t have the anxiety that the power will run out, because in the centre of the fan there is a handy digital screen that shows which speed you are on, and small green bars to show how much charge there is left. I took it to a 3 day festival, and even though I used it a lot I still had charge left when I was heading home.

It is charged via a USB-C port, and it comes with its own USB-C to USB cable, though I tried some random cables at home along with powerbanks, my computer and charging it in the car, and it charged with no issues.

Any Drawbacks?

There is only one - the sound. At settings 1, 2 and 3 the sound is fine, but once you get to 4 and 5 it has a bit of whiny high-pitched whirr which is only a problem if you are in quieter surroundings amongst other people. Honestly though, my most used settings have been 1 and 2 and the higher settings have been used sparingly just for those super blasts when I’m heading into complete meltdown.

Damian’s thoughts

It’s obvious then that due to Muddy Madam’s menopausal hot-flushes I don’t get to use it very often. But on the rare occasions I do, I can say that the DiveBlues Jetforce Handheld Turbo Fan - giving it it’s full title, works wonderfully at feeding the right amount of oxygen to a newly lit fire when it needs that extra help. It’s also very good at improving air circulation in a tent at night, and more importantly, it can help to deter insects by creating airflow.

Our Verdict

I’ve had this now for over a month and wouldn’t be without it; in fact it is blowing gently at me at the moment whilst I am writing this review - heavenly! I have already sold some of these on behalf of Whitby, because when I took it to the festival it was such a hit, that ever since friends have messaged me for details so they can buy one - it’s THAT GOOD!
