Yaoh Organic Hemp Seed Oil Sun Block - factor 15

The official bumf on this Yaoh Sun Block is:

'Yaoh Organic Hemp Seed Oil Sun Block combines the natural protective, moisturising and rejuvenating qualities of organic hemp seed oil, with the most effective and least damaging chemical sunblocks, to produce a safe and protective lotion that is vegan, free from parabens, harmful substances and unnecessary chemical additives.'

Now my take on it...

I bought this 240ml bottle to take with me to Morocco. I liked that it is vegan (although I'm not), not tested on animals (I don't like bunny rabbits having chemicals rubbed in their eyes, or worse, just so I don't burn), and free from parabens (very bad stuff, and if you want to know a bit more about why they are bad click here), harmful substances and unnecessary chemical additives.

Morocco is on the African continent and is blooming hot and very, very sunny, and I have pastey white (almost blue) British skin that burns easily when exposed to sunshine, so this had a tough job to do.

I bought the factor 15 version (there's also a factor 30) as I wanted to get a reasonable tan and with 30 versions of other creams my skin has stayed the same hue (which, according to my husband's skin cancer doctor, is really what you should aim for as he says no amount of tanning is truly safe), and really you want at least a little colour to make co-workers jealous (evil smirk).

I loved that it spreads across the skin in a nice non-sticky way, that it doesn't smell nasty and that a little bit goes a long way. I did a lot of lying about in the sun (quite a bit more than usual as I was with my mum, and she is a sun lounger supremo), and quite a bit of walking about too, and I didn't burn once!

I repeat 'I didn't burn once' - a blooming miracle!

Should you buy it? - Yes, yes, yes! Enough said.
