INEOS Grenadier Joins Spanish Police Fleet
The Spanish National Police has expanded its fleet with 10 INEOS Grenadier models, which will be deployed with the Police Intervention Units (UIP). The rugged 4x4s are intended to boost operational performance in some of the toughest working conditions.
The arrival of the Grenadiers reflects the growing demand for vehicles capable of tackling extreme environments, where rough terrain, severe weather, or difficult access can limit the effectiveness of standard vehicles. In these situations, dependable mobility and proven mechanical durability are essential for both successful operations and officer safety.
“As Grenadier enters its third full year of production, we are now seeing fleet users really backing our product in mission critical situations. The Spanish National Police are the latest in a growing line of service Grenadiers operating across Europe, the UK and beyond”, commented Tony Lewis, Global Head of Fleet at INEOS Automotive.
Engineered specifically for demanding conditions, the INEOS Grenadier features a tough ladder-frame chassis, permanent four-wheel drive, and impressive off-road ability. These qualities make it especially well suited to police work that extends beyond conventional roads and urban environments.
The new additions will improve the UIP’s ability to respond in remote rural areas, mountainous terrain, natural landscapes, and emergency situations, where quick access and obstacle-clearing capability can make all the difference. With strong off-road credentials and established local supply support, the Grenadier is proving increasingly attractive for defence and public sector fleets throughout Europe.
Following a series of industry awards and more than 36,000 deliveries worldwide, fleet interest in the Grenadier has risen sharply over the last six months and continues to gather pace. Fleet orders during the first quarter of 2026 have come from a diverse mix of organisations, including the Kenyan Red Cross, Hertz in North America, and fire and rescue services across Germany, Spain, and France.
