INEOS PRESENTS NEW THE FLAGSHIP TRIALMASTER X
There’s a new top dog in the INEOS Grenadier kennel, and it goes by the name of the INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster X. Think of it as the “I’ll have all the options, please” version of the already properly capable Grenadier — built for folk who want to head into the wild without spending three weekends bolting accessories onto it first.
The new Trialmaster X combines the rough-and-ready off-road toughness of the standard Trialmaster with the posher bits from the Fieldmaster. In simple terms, it’s like turning up to a muddy green lane wearing hiking boots… but also a decent watch and a freshly ironed shirt. Somehow, it works.
Available as both the Station Wagon and the Quartermaster pick-up, the Trialmaster X sits proudly at the top of the Grenadier range. Prices start at £75,195 for the Station Wagon and £75,010 for the Quartermaster. That’s not exactly pocket change, but considering the amount of kit stuffed into it, it’s less “expensive toy” and more “ready-built overland weapon”.
As standard, it comes finished in Scottish White, although buyers can also choose from Devil Red, Magic Mushroom, or Donny Grey — all sounding less like paint colours and more like indie bands playing at Glastonbury.
Underneath the chunky styling is where the serious business happens. Front and rear locking differentials? Tick. BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO3 tyres wrapped around 17-inch alloys? Tick. Raised air intake? Tick. High-load electrical prep? Also tick. Basically, if your idea of a good weekend involves mud, rocks, flooded tracks, or getting hopelessly lost while pretending you definitely know where you’re going, this thing is already prepared for it.
It also gets safari windows, privacy glass, and a lockable storage box mounted to the spare wheel — ideal for stashing recovery gear, wet straps, or snacks you don’t want your passengers finding.
Inside, though, things get surprisingly civilised. Leather seats in either black or two-tone grey and black, heated front seats, carpet mats, and a premium sound system make it feel less agricultural than some hardcore off-roaders. You could happily drive this thing across Europe, camp in the Alps, and still turn up at a nice restaurant without looking like you’ve just escaped from a forestry job.
Practicality hasn’t been forgotten either. The Grenadier Trialmaster X comes with a tow ball as standard and boasts a hefty 7-tonne gross train weight, meaning it’ll happily drag trailers, caravans, boats, or half your mate Dave’s failed project car collection without breaking sweat.
There’s also a massive catalogue of expedition-ready accessories available, including the integrated 5.5-tonne front winch and contrasting roof options in either Inky Black or Scottish White. Meanwhile, buyers heading somewhere remote enough to make your local Tesco look like civilisation can still spec the petrol fuel filter or diesel water separator for dodgy fuel regions.
In short, the Trialmaster X looks like INEOS sat down and asked: “What if we built the ultimate Grenadier straight from the factory?” Then someone replied: “Aye, go on then.”
And honestly? Fair play to them.
Lynn Calder - CEO, INEOS Automotive, said: “Three years on from launch, we continue to evolve the Grenadier line-up, broadening its appeal in response to customer feedback. Building on the significant enhancements introduced for 2026, Trialmaster X is the pinnacle all-rounder. The ultimate combination of off-road toughness, premium day-to-day comfort and intrepid spirit.”
