New Styling Kits for the Mercedes G-Wagon W465

Mercedes G-Wagon

If the G-Wagon were a person, it’d be that impeccably dressed adventurer who turns heads at the campsite, then casually climbs a mountain before tea. And now, thanks to the team at Urban Automotive, it’s had an even sharper wardrobe update - with not one, but two fresh styling packages: the Widetrack and the Aero Kit.

These latest offerings mark the 30th bespoke build from the Milton Keynes-based outfit since they kicked things off in 2013 - not a bad innings! The G-Wagon has long been a fan favourite at Urban, and not just with off-roaders either. Celebrities like Marcus Rashford have already snapped up Urban-tweaked versions of the iconic Merc, and this latest evolution looks set to be just as popular.

The Widetrack: Big, Bold, and Beautifully Bespoke

Let’s start with the Widetrack — the louder of the two siblings. This wide-body kit doesn’t just tweak the G-Wagon, it transforms it into something that looks like it’s just stomped off a film set. Urban has packed over 40 individual carbon fibre components into this design, all created in-house using top-tier materials and craftsmanship.

The aim? To make the G-Wagon look even more commanding, while still nodding respectfully to its classic roots. Think of it as OEM Plus — the original, but turned up a notch.

Simon Dearn, the founder of Urban Automotive, puts it nicely:

“The G-Wagon Widetrack retains the core design language that defines Urban’s identity, while signalling a bold and deliberate evolution.”

Key highlights include flared carbon fibre arches, a toughened-up front bumper with honeycomb mesh inserts, a sculpted splitter, and a lightweight vented bullnose bonnet that wears the UA badge like a badge of honour. Up top, a carbon fibre roof light bar adds presence. Around the back? A reworked bumper, carbon diffuser, tow cover, and more of that gorgeous honeycomb detailing.

And for those who like their wheels to make a statement, Urban has you covered with a set of 23-inch flat-faced Urban-Vossen UV-7 alloys, handmade in Miami just for this build. Miami might be a long way from the Peak District, but those wheels are ready for anything.

The Aero Kit: Sleek, Subtle, Still Seriously Cool

Prefer something a little more understated? Enter the Aero Kit — a refined reworking of Urban’s previous ‘Soft Kit’. Designed for those who want a cleaner, more elegant look without bulking up the G-Wagon’s width, it still delivers that signature Urban swagger in a subtler package.

You still get the signature bullnose bonnet, carbon roof lights, rear spoiler, and branded spare wheel cover. And for those who want to go the extra mile, there’s a menu of optional upgrades like carbon fibre bumper overriders, wing mirrors, and intake trims.

The Aero Kit proves that you don’t have to shout to be heard - sometimes a quiet growl is all you need.

Masters of Carbon Fibre Craft

All components — whether they end up on a Widetrack or Aero Kit — are lovingly crafted at Urban’s HQ in Milton Keynes. Using premium carbon fibre, their team ensures not only durability and weight savings, but also a precision fit that would make a Swiss watchmaker nod in approval.

Simon Dearn adds:

“Advancements in design methodology have enabled significant improvements in both fit and finish, aligning the Widetrack with a premium OEM-standard aesthetic.”

Expect extended carbon detailing, billet aluminium exhaust finishers, and finely-engineered mesh inserts throughout. It’s not just about looks either — Urban-equipped G-Wagons have been known to fetch up to 14% more at resale, thanks to the quality and exclusivity of the upgrades.

Ready to Transform Your G-Wagon?

Whether you’re ordering one fresh from Urban’s stock or handing over the keys to your own pride and joy, both the Widetrack and Aero Kit are now available across the W465 G63 (4.0L V8), G500 (3.0L straight-six petrol), and G450d (3.0L turbodiesel). Each features the trusty 9-speed auto ‘box.

Own an older G-Wagon? No worries — Urban offers retrofitting options for earlier models too, so no one gets left behind.
